What Keeps Us Apart

Excerpt from WHAT KEEPS US APART

GURURAJ ANANDA YOGI: We have never been separate from divinity. The ego self has caused us to feel the separation, yet the ego self exists only on the borrowed light of the real self. This ego self deludes us into believing that we are the doer when it is the infinite power that is the real doer. Only our thoughts, assuming themselves to be real, find separation. But even the ego self is divine, for both illusion and non-illusion have their own realities, though not actuality. We chase the mirage, but not what is actual.

Our actions and meditations validate and purify each other. We must renounce the selfishness of our actions, and then all action is but a meditation. We find action in inaction. When we attach importance to the ego, we experience the now of life. Then we experience actuality, the absolute oneness of life and God. This comes from remembering that we are not the doer. Then our actions do not create samskaras. We find freedom in unity consciousness, where the act, the actor, and the action become one.

So when actions become a meditation, we do not feel tired. We become the observer. Then we find peace, for only the ego knows of pain and suffering We expend energy in useless thought. If we focus on problems, life becomes problematic.

Revolutionary thought: unselfish action produces no reaction. That is the secret of existence. Everything is joyful if we cognize with the heart. There are no distances between loved ones in the realm of the heart. But we need the ego to cognize that. Individual drop merging in universality of the ocean. We use the universal force to burn the seeds of karma and free us from pattemings. Reap what you sow is true, but limited. New teaching: all that can be discarded.

Life is not separate from spirituality.

That is just a projection, like a movie. We must draw from that light that will banish the darkness. Only in that heat do we find purity. Accept life’s circumstances. How our actions relate to the 4 yogas. He tells the story of Lena and her devotion. We need the things that happen to us to learn from. The purpose of existence is to find God, for God is existence.
